NorSun and Heliene Partner for US-Made Silicon Wafers to Boost Domestic Solar Supply Chain by 2026

Norwegian solar manufacturer, NorSun, has signed a multi-year agreement to supply its US-made silicon wafers to North American solar panel maker Heliene. The supply will begin in 2026 from NorSun’s planned 5-GW ingot and wafer factory in Tulsa, Oklahoma, which is expected to be fully operational by that date. Helienes will use the wafs from Tulsa to produce solar cells at its own new factory in Minneapolis-St. Paul area. The deal aligns with Helisene’s commitment to increasing domestic content in the US solar supply chain. NorSun is the only remaining Western wafer producer in a market dominated by Chinese manufacturers. Both companies are committed to developing low carbon, domestically produced solutions based on sustainable value chains.
