Nikola Corp showcased its hydrogen fuel cell truck at CES 2024, highlighting its range and maneuverability. The vehicle was designed for regional haul applications and features a 500-mile range when it is pulling a loaded trailer, its hydrogen capacity is 70 kilograms, and two backup batteries offer an additional 164-kilowatt hour total. Nikola’s global head of program and product management, Christian Appel, demonstrated the vehicle’s handling, including braking and accelerating. Appel also highlighted its ability to run for closer to 550 miles under easier circumstances.
