Nikola Corporation has opened its first hydrogen station, a high-pressure modular refueling facility in Ontario, California. The event, part of Nikola’s H2 strategy, welcomed fleet customers and representatives from the company’s sales and service network dealers, fleet customers, government officials, the company’s leadership and engineering teams, and industry press. The station has technically been open since February and is expected to handle up to 40 of Nikola’s H2-powered fuel cell electric Class 8 trucks per day. It is also expected to be the first of as many as 9 hydrogen station modules to be installed by this summer and Nikola plans to have 14 total stations open and operating by the close of 2024.
