Nexamp and TurningPoint Energy Launch 9.4-MW Solar Farm in Rhode Island, Powering 15 Non-Profits and Schools.

US solar and storage developer-operator Nexamp and clean energy development firm TurningPoint Energy (TPE) have inaugurated a 9.4-MW solar farm in Warren, Rhode Island. The project repurposed the land previously used as a golf course into a solar power site with a capacity to generate around 11.5 GWh of electricity annually. The solar farm is made up of two co-located arrays featuring over 17,000 modules. Nexamp built the solar farm and is now its owner and operator. The plant uploaded power to the grid for the first time last month. This is part of Rhode Island’s Virtual Net Metering programme, providing energy savings to 15 non-profit organisations, schools, cities and towns that receive their power from Rhode Island Energy.
