Nexamp and Starbucks Partner to Launch Six Community Solar Farms in Illinois, Benefiting Local Residents and Businesses.

US solar and storage developer Nexamp is partnering with Starbucks Corp (NASDAQ:SBUX) to develop six new community solar farms in Illinois with a combined capacity of 40 MW under a power purchase agreement (PPA) with the local coffee retailer. The agreement allows Starbucks to receive only a portion of the renewable electricity credits related to the assets, while the remaining capacity will be allocated to area residents and businesses through the Nexamp community solar programme. The six new sites will provide significant electricity savings to over 1,100 local residents who subscribe within the ComEd and Ameren utility territories. The companies have committed to continue their partnership to add more locations across the country.
