The lawsuit alleges that JBS has claimed it will achieve net-zero emissions by 2040 but has not calculated its total emissions and plans to increase production, which will likely increase its carbon footprint. The company has made its net zero goal part of its marketing strategy but has no viable plan to reach that target, according to the lawsuit.
