New Jersey Launches Fourth Offshore Wind Solicitation, Aiming for 1.2 to 4 GW Capacity by 2024.

The New Jersey Board of Public Utilities (NJBPU) has opened bidding in its fourth offshore wind solicitation, aiming to award between 1.2 GW and 4 GW of generation capacity. The competitive round will be open by July 10, 2024. This move is part of New Jersey’s goal for a 100% clean energy economy by 2035. The state has increased its offshore wind target from 7.5 GW to 11 GW by 2040 and is conducting a study to assess transmission options to connect more offshore wind farms.
