Myron Ebell, a prominent climate change denier who has been prominent for over two decades, is retiring from his position at the Competitive Enterprise Institute’s Center for Energy and Environment. Ebell has also played a role in blocking cap-and-trade legislation for carbon dioxide, the unsuccessful 1990s efforts to change the Endangered Species Act, and former President Donald Trump’s decision to withdraw from the Paris Agreement. Despite acknowledging that man-made emissions have led to some warming, Ebell dismissed the idea of a climate crisis as “preposterous.” He remains a senior fellow at the institute, though his energy level has decreased due to age and side effects from the vaccines.
