National Grid Renewables Development LLC has been approved to build a 160-MW solar photovoltaic (PV) park in Minnesota. The decision was made by the Minnesota Public Utilities Commission (PSC). The Elk Creek Solar project will install PV panels across 1,500 acres of land in eastern Rock County. Construction is expected to begin next spring, with commercial operations set to begin in 2026. The project is estimated to bring USD 7.6 million in tax revenues over 20 years and create up to 225 jobs.
