Lancaster Renames Resilience Center to “Parris Center,” Unveils Zero-Carbon Building at Groundbreaking Ceremony.

The City of Lancaster has renamed the Multi-Agency Regional Resilience Center (MARRC) project “Parris Center” in recognition of Mayor R. Rex Parris and his family for their outstanding contributions to the city. The Parris Center will be the first building of its kind to use an integrated system of hydrogen, electricity, and heat pumps to achieve a zero-carbon footprint, ensuring outstanding sustainability and energy resiliency for emergency situations. The announcement was made during a groundbreaking ceremony on July 11, 2024. The city of Lancaster is also taking steps to enhance public safety, including establishing its own police department.
