Lancaster and ReCarbon Launch Initiative to Transform Waste Biogases into Clean Hydrogen for Local Economy.

The City of Lancaster California (Lancaster) and ReCarbon, Inc. (ReCarbon), have launched The Antelope Valley Circular Hydrogen Initiative (AVCHI), a multi-stakeholder, public-private partnership aiming to transform waste biogases into clean hydrogen to fuel the growth of the local clean energy economy and provide energy and economic resilience in the Antelope valley. The initiative will also develop an innovative pilot plant at the Lancaster Water Reclamation Plant owned and operated by the Los Angeles County Sanitation Districts (LASCD). ReBarbon’s process uses atmospheric microwave plasma to efficiently convert greenhouse gases (CO and CH) to produce hydrogen with a zero carbon intensity (CI). The AVCHI aims to provide clean, renewable hydrogen power to reduce pollution and further environmental justice goals.
