Investors Urge U.S. Banks to Strengthen Climate Commitments Amid Calls for Clear Action Plans and Transparency

Investors and advocates are urging large U.S. banks to demonstrate their commitment to climate-related work to meet their climate goals, following pressure from climate-concerned investors. The Sierra Club’s Ben Cushing, who leads the Sierra Club’s finance campaign, stated that while banks have committed to long-term commitments and near-term targets, they lack plans in place to achieve these commitments, investors are asking for more information about how they plan to meet these commitments.
