Intersect Power’s 500MW Oberon solar and storage project in California has been initiated, combining First Solar modules and Nextracker trackers with Tesla batteries. The project will create 930 skilled union jobs and offer renewable energy credits to California’s largest energy providers. It is the first to meet IRA and BLM standards and will provide clean, reliable energy to over 200,000 California households and reduce carbon emissions by 500,000 metric tons. It will also contribute to the diversification of California’s energy mix, reducing its reliance on natural gas. The Oberon project will help California meet its clean energy goals and provide a model for other states to follow.
