IFC Funds Brookfield’s $105 Million Solar Park Project in Rajasthan to Boost India’s Renewable Energy Capacity.

The International Finance Corporation (IFC) will provide some of the financing for Brookfield Asset Management (TSE:BAMPF.PF) to build a 550-MWp solar park in India’s Rajasthan state. The Canada-based group will receive USD 105 million through long-term non-convertible debentures allocated to the project’s special purpose vehicles. The financing will support the construction of a PV park in Bikaner, east of the border with Pakistan, which will generate electricity for commercial and industrial consumers across India under long-contract power purchase agreements. The Bikanan solar farm will be connected to India’s inter-state transmission system and is seen to contribute to India’s goal of increasing its non-fossil fuel capacity to 500 GW by 2030.
