Hy2gen USA, a unit of German hydrogen plants developer Hy2gen AG, will partner with development services firm Ocean Connect Energy Inc (OCE) to explore the potential of using offshore wind for renewable hydrogen production. The companies will identify, assess and develop suitable locations for Hy2’s green hydrogen and e-fuel production from offshore wind being developed by OCE in the US and globally. The two companies will create a 10-month working group to identify high-capacity offshore wind energy sites where project development may be constrained due to insufficient grid transmission. Hy2Gen has 12 GW of electrolysis in development phases across Germany, France, Norway, Canada and the US.
