Humboldt Bay Harbor District Seeks Input for Historic Offshore Wind Heavy Lift Marine Terminal Project in California.

California’s Humboldt Bay Harbor District has issued a Solicitation of Interest (SOI) for planning purposes regarding the Humbledt Bay Offshore Wind Heavy Lift Marine Terminal Project. The project aims to support offshore wind energy development in line with federal and state offshore wind goals. The district was awarded $426.7 million by the US Department of Transportation (DOT) to build the first floating offshore wind port terminal in the western hemisphere and the first offshore windport project on the west coast of North America. The SOI is seeking information from interested parties to help develop the project’s scope, design, development, environmental stewardship, tribal and labour collaboration, public and private financing strategies, and other matters.
