House to vote on blocking funding for Capitol electric vehicle chargers amid fiscal 2025 budget discussions.

The House of Representatives is set to vote this week on whether to block funding for electric vehicle charging stations on Capitol Hill. The Rules Committee made an amendment from Texas Republican Keith Self to block any existing spending on existing chargers. This is one of the few amendments to the fiscal 2025 House Legislative Branch bill that are expected to receive a vote. The panel also blocked a proposal by Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Colo) that would prohibit requiring food service providers in the Capitol campus to reduce plastic waste.
