House Subcommittee to Discuss Electrification of Trucking Sector and Government Investments in Charging Infrastructure and Manufacturing.

The House Transportation and Infrastructure Subcommittee on Highways and Transit will hold a hearing on the administration’s efforts to electrify the trucking sector, with about 17 percent of the long-distance fleet expected to be electric by 2032 under an EPA greenhouse gas rule. The government is investing billions of dollars to build charging stations and promote domestic battery and truck manufacturing. The hearing will be led by subcommittee Chair Rick Crawford, who will focus on programs approved through the bipartisan infrastructure law.
