House Subcommittee Opposes Bill to Expand National Rig-to-Reef Conversions, Citing Broad Scope and Lack of Support.

Members of a House Natural Resources subcommittee are opposing legislation that aims to increase national rig-to-reefs conversions. The bill, sponsored by Rep. Garret Graves (R-La), would require NOAA to review more offshore oil and gas platforms as potential artificial reefs. However, both ranking member Jared Huffman (D-Calif.) and NOAA official argue that the proposal is too broad and lacks support to conduct more assessments.
