House Republicans Move to Overturn Federal Railroad Administration’s Two-Person Crew Mandate for Freight Trains.

House Republicans have introduced a resolution of disapproval against the Federal Railroad Administration’s new crew mandate for freight trains. The rule requires two-person crews on most long-haul freight trains, with some exceptions. Missouri Republican Rep. Eric Burlison is leading the effort to overturn the rule using the Congressional Review Act, arguing that it is not based on sound research. Rail companies argue that the rule should be based on facts, not influential unions.
