Members of the House’s top investigative panel, the House Oversight and Accountability Subcommittee on Government Operations and the Federal Workforce, plan to hold a hearing to examine the Council of the Inspectors General on Integrity and Efficiency (CIGIE), which oversees internal watchdogs across the federal government. The hearing will be held to assess the Council’s management and performance challenges. The Committee Chair Pete Sessions (R-Texas) stated that transparency and efficiency within the CIGIE are critical to supporting inspector general offices’ ability to prevent waste, fraud, and abuse.
