House Oversight Committee to Question Energy Secretary Granholm on Appliance Regulations and Department Policies Amid Criticism.

The House Oversight and Accountability Committee Republicans will have their first opportunity to question Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm. This comes as part of their focus on home appliance regulations. This will be Granholm’s first appearance before the Oversight Committee, chaired by James Comer (R-Ky), who has accused Granholm of avoiding requests to appear for months. Comer accused the Department of Energy of operating behind closed doors and of misusing the Strategic Petroleum Reserve, delaying liquefied natural gas exports and increasing spending levels. The Oversight Committee is prepared to shine a light on these policies and will continue to hold Secretary Granholm accountable.
