House Approves Bipartisan EXPLORE Act to Enhance Access to Public Lands and Boost Outdoor Economy

The House of Representatives has approved a sweeping recreation bill, H.R. 6492, the “Expanding Public Lands Outdoor Recreation Experiences (EXPLORE) Act,” which addresses access to public lands and aims to boost the nation’s outdoors economy. The bill, introduced last year by Natural Resources Chair Bruce Westerman (R-Ark) and co-sponsored by ranking member Raúl Grijalva (D-Ariz), has strong bipartisan support, with 27 Democrats among its 51 co-sponsors. This marks the first time in the House that the bill has been considered a comprehensive outdoors package in its history.
