House Approves Bill to Enhance Oversight of DOE Spending and Wildfire Forecasting Efforts

The House of Representatives has approved legislation to increase scrutiny of Department of Energy (DOE) spending and improve wildfire forecasting. Ohio Republican Rep. Mike Carey’s H.R. 1069, the “Clean Energy Demonstration Transparency Act,” would require new reporting on projects at the Office of Clean Energy Demonstrations, which was created in the bipartisan infrastructure law and has received over $25 billion. The bill passed by voice vote.
