House Appropriations Committee Passes $59.2 Billion Bill with Cuts to Clean Energy and Partisan Riders.

The House Appropriations Committee passed its $59.2 billion fiscal 2025 bill, which includes severe cuts to clean energy programs and includes numerous partisan riders. The bill passed 30-26 after Democrats added more measures deemed as “poison pills” by the GOP. Republicans highlighted the bill’s increases for DOE’s nuclear office and a new program to research critical minerals from oil and gas operations. Additionally, hundreds of millions in earmarks were made for local Army Corps projects.
