Honeywell International Inc has been selected to supply a 124-MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) to six solar farms in the US Virgin Islands. This move is part of the USVI’s commitment to reach 30% renewable energy usage. The BESS will provide an end-to-end battery management system with an integrated safety system. Honeywell’s BESS aims to fulfil 30% of the Islands’ energy consumption from renewable sources. The move is seen as part of US Virgin’s decarbonisation efforts.
