Honeywell to Supply 124-MWh Battery System for US Virgin Islands’ Renewable Energy Goals and Decarbonisation Efforts.

Honeywell International Inc has been selected to supply a 124-MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) to six solar farms in the US Virgin Islands. This move is part of the USVI’s commitment to reach 30% renewable energy usage. The BESS will provide an end-to-end battery management system with an integrated safety system. Honeywell’s BESS aims to fulfil 30% of the Islands’ energy consumption from renewable sources. The move is seen as part of US Virgin’s decarbonisation efforts. The benefits of Honeywell include increased energy independence and security for the USVirgin Islands, increased resilience against extreme weather events, and reduced costs.
