US independent oil-and-gas company HighPeak Energy has commissioned a 9.9-MW solar farm at its Flat Top operating area in Texas. The project, named the WildHorse Solar Farm, was developed by Priority Power Management, an energy-as-a-service business, on behalf of Highpeak. Priority Power was responsible for the design, EPC tasks, and managed the interconnection process. Mike Hollis, President of HighPeaks, stated that the project is fiscally and environmentally beneficial to the company and the local community, particularly in light of forecasts of rising power prices. The CEO of Priority Power, Brandon Schwertner, anticipates a significant increase in power prices across Texas over the next decade, with the value of 100 megawatts of power by the next 10 years moving up by $100 million.
