Governor Hochul Launches Solicitation for Large-Scale Renewable Energy Projects to Achieve 70% Electricity Goal by 2030

New York Governor Kathy Hochul has initiated a solicitation for large-scale land-based renewable energy projects, supporting the state’s goal of generating 70% of its electricity from renewable energy by 2030. This is the eighth annual Renewable Energy Standard (RES) request for proposals by the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA). The solicitation includes provisions from the latest rounds of renewable energy procurements such as inflation indexing, labour provisions, stakeholder engagement requirements, and more. Final bids will be submitted by August 8, 2024. Selected proposers are expected to receive conditional award notifications in September.
