Fresno Begins Construction on Major Solar and Battery Project, Creating Jobs and Lowering Energy Costs.

The City of Fresno, California, has begun construction on a 27 MW behind-the-meter solar and battery energy storage portfolio. The project is developed in partnership with ForeFront Power, a solar and energy storage developer in the U.S. and Mexico, and will be among the largest metered solar energy and battery storage projects in California. The city of Fresno will purchase the electricity generated at a fixed rate power purchase agreement (PPA), resulting in a fixed, below-market rate for electricity. The projects are part of a plan to lower energy costs, improve resiliency, and reduce emissions by $100 million by 2045. Construction has already created 192 local jobs and accounting for 120 local jobs.
