HyTerra, a subsidiary of Fortescue Future Industries Technologies, has secured a significant investment from a subsidiary, Fortesue Future Industry Technologies, A$21.9 million, securing a 39.8% stake in HyTerra. The money will be used to fund an expanded exploration phase of HyTerRA’s Nemaha Project in Kansas, where white hydrogen, a naturally occurring gas extracted using conventional techniques, is at the core of the project. The investment also comes with strategic benefits, including a potential for a Strategic Alliance Agreement between Hy Terra and Fortescued, which could facilitate collaboration on the Nemaha project and potentially open doors to global opportunities in the hydrogen sector. However, it remains uncertain whether the expanded exploration will yield commercially viable results due to the early stages of the development of white hydrogen.
