Form Energy Inc is working on its first high-volume manufacturing facility for iron-air battery technology in Weirton, West Virginia, with a $760 million investment and annual production capacity of 500 MW. The facility, Form Factory 1, is supported by a financial incentive package from the state of West Virginia and is expected to be completed in the summer, with an additional phase expanding the manufacturing space to 1 million square feet. Once operational, the factory will employ at least 750 people and operate in mid to late 2024. Operations are set to begin in mid- to late 2025. Additional expansion is planned for early 2025.
