A judge in Flint, Michigan, has found the city in contempt for failing to meet court-sanctioned deadlines to replace lead service lines, which pose health risks to children and adults ten years after the water crisis. The city had agreed in a 2017 settlement to replace all pipes coated with the heavy metal by March 2020. A coalition of local pastors and Flint resident Melissa Mays, represented by the American Civil Liberties Union and the Natural Resources Defense Council, have complained six times that the city is not complying with the deal.
