FFAW Voices Concerns Over Project Nujio’qonik Hydrogen Plant Amid Environmental Impact Warnings and Job Promises.

The Fish, Food and Allied Workers Union-Unifor (FFAW) has sent a letter to the federal Environment and Climate Change Minister Steven Guilbeault expressing its “grave concerns” about the proposed hydrogen plant proposal, Project Nujio’qonik, which is being proposed by World Energy GH2. The ETC has also expressed concerns about the project’s potential impact on the environment, including migratory birds and marine life, and the Environmental Transparency Committee (ETC) has long criticized the proposal. The project is still in the early stages of development and it is unclear whether it will ultimately be approved. The company has said that the project will create hundreds of jobs and millions of dollars in investment for the region, while the provincial government has expressed support for the project, saying it will help create jobs and grow the economy.
