FERC Delays Decision on Louisiana Gas Export Facility Amid Ongoing Review of Emissions Estimates and Air Pollution Concerns.

The head of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) has stated that the agency is still reviewing emissions estimates for a proposed gas export facility in Louisiana, delaying a final decision on the terminal. FERC Chair Willie Phillips stated that staff members are investigating responses filed by Venture Global about anticipated air pollution from the planned Calcasieu Pass 2 terminal. Venture Global, the project’s developer, stated that its project and a proposed air permit modification for the existing Calcasie Pass facility comply with National Ambient Air Quality Standards.
