This decision is a significant victory for developer Venture Global, who had criticized the regulatory process for being slow. The Department of Energy has maintained a temporary freeze on issuing new licenses to ship the gas. Despite this, FERC has made clear that it will continue to consider project proposals to build export terminals for liquefied natural gas.
