ExxonMobil and Air Liquide Partner to Produce Over 1 Million Tons of Low-Carbon Hydrogen and Ammonia.

ExxonMobil and Air Liquide have announced a partnership to produce low-carbon hydrogen and ammonia at ExxonMobil’s Baytown, Texas plant. The partnership aims to leverage the company’s expertise in industrial gas production to support ExxonMobil’s ambitious low-car hydrogen and ammonia output at the Baytown plant, which is expected to produce over 1 million tons of ammonia annually. The move aligns with industry trends towards decarbonization, responding to pressure to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Air Liquidide will manage four large modular air separation units that will supply ExxonMobil with 9,000 tons of oxygen and approximately 6,500 tons of nitrogen daily. The project could potentially accelerate market adoption by transporting the produced low-Carbon hydrogen via the existing pipeline network.
