EQT, the original lead developer of the Mountain Valley gas pipeline, has purchased Equitrans Midstream from the largest US gas producer. The acquisition was contingent on federal approval to start moving gas through the 303-mile pipeline. EQT estimates it could realize over $425 million in savings by integrating the two companies’ pipeline assets. Equitran CEO Thomas F. Karam and former Equitras Directors Vicky A. Bailey and Robert F. Vagt were immediately placed on the EQT Board of Directors.
