Entergy Louisiana to Expand Solar Portfolio by 3 GW, Largest in State History, Following PSC Approval.

Entergy Louisiana is planning to expand its solar portfolio by up to 3 GW, following a decision by the Louisiana Public Service Commission (PSC) authorizing an expedited procurement process. The expansion would represent the largest of its kind in state history, according to Entergy Louisiana. The company, which owns 230 MW of renewable energy resources, argues that the expedited review process is necessary to meet demand from Louisiana electric customers, particularly energy-intensive industrial and manufacturing businesses. The new solar will be used to supply power to customers seeking to subscribe to the company’s green tariff offerings. The move is part of a larger expansion of Entergy’s renewable energy portfolio in response to growing demand from industrial energy customers.
