Enfinite Completes 60MW BESS Portfolio in Alberta, Aiding Energy Stability Amid Recent Blackout Threats

Enfinite has energised 60MW of BESS in Alberta, Canada, completing its nine-project portfolio. The projects are 20MW each and are located near the communities of Wapiti and Hythe in northern Alberta. They are part of the firm’s eReserve programme, which was previously deployed using Tesla’s Megapack BESS product. Despite not disclosing the project’s capacity, previous announcements stated all nine projects were 20MW/35MWh systems. Enfinite CEO, Jason White, said that their energy storage assets played a significant role in preventing rolling blackouts during Alberta’s recent energy emergency. The company is backed by the TD Greystone Infrastructure Fund and will host the 5th Energy Storage Summit USA in Austin, Texas in 2024.
