EnergyRe Signs 15-Year Solar Power Deals with DOD for 135 MW Projects in South Carolina

US renewable energy developer EnergyRe has signed deals to supply solar power to five facilities of the Department of Defense (DOD) from 135 MW photovoltaic projects in South Carolina. The electricity supply will be made under two 15-year power purchase agreements. The contracts were facilitated by DOD’s enrollment in Duke Energy Corp’s Green Source Advantage (GSA) programme. EnergyRe will meet its commitment under these deals with power from its 60-MW Shorthorn and 75-MW Culpepper solar farms, which are due to go online in the last quarter of 2026. The projects represent a combined investment of USD 190.8 million (EUR 177.7m).
