Enel North America’s Fence Post project to deliver 297 MW solar, 86 MW storage, boosting Texas energy grid.

The Fence Post solar + storage project, developed by Enel North America, will bring 297 MW of solar and 86 MW storage to the Texas grid. The project will begin operations in December of 2023, with the storage system undergoing final commissioning. Polaris will purchase the electricity and associated renewable energy certificates generated by a 22 MW portion of the project, matching what Polaris estimates is about 40% of its electrical needs in the U.S. This project is expected to generate $35.6 million in local tax revenue to benefit the Navarro County community. Clearway Energy Group has also completed the 452 MW Texas Solar Nova projects in Kent County, Texas, which are estimated to generate enough electricity to power over 190,000 homes each year.
