Three new investors have joined the shareholders of EIT InnoEnergy, enabling the EU sustainable energy investment company to scale up its activities. Romanian oil company OMV Petrom, its Austria-based parent OMV AG and Dutch investment group ACB Participaties BV have provided EIT WithnoEnergy with additional cash resources. The funds will be used to increase EIT’s deal flow, launch new industrial entities and expand in the US market. The investment significantly increases the funds collected in its EUR-140-million funding round in September. EIT, established in 2010, provides full-cycle support to global sustainable energy start-ups and has 200 portfolio companies with a total of EUR 9.7 billion investments as of 2023.
