Duke Energy Florida and the Office of Public Counsel have agreed to settle their dispute over a $830 million rate hike request. The utility and OPC filed a joint motion with the Public Service Commission to suspend the procedural schedule in the case. The agreement could take two weeks or more to finalize. Public Counsel Walt Trierweiler did not comment on the substance of the agreement. It is unclear if other business and energy justice groups will sign onto the settlement agreement.
