Dominion Energy Denies Delay in Coastal Virginia Offshore Wind Project Amid Lawsuit Over Endangered Whales Impact.

Dominic Energy (D) has denied reports of a delay in the construction of its 2.6-GW Coastal Virginia Offshore Wind (CVOW), despite a lawsuit filed by the US District Court for the District of Columbia alleging that regulators failed to consider the project’s impact on endangered whales. The company stated that the project remains on schedule and on budget consistent with previously disclosed timelines and costs. The installation of monopiles is set to begin between May 6 and May 8. The CVOW complex will be built in a nearly 113,000-acre lease area off the coast of Virginia Beach and is expected to be operational in late 2026.
