The Department of Energy (DOE) has begun a process to designate National Interest Electric Transmission Corridors, seeking industry input on the first stage of the process. The DoE’s Argonne National Laboratory and Idaho National Laboratory will conduct demonstration projects to validate long-duration energy storage technology developed by German manufacturer CMBlu Energy. The project aims to improve microgrids in cold climates and make fast charging of electric vehicles more affordable in underserved communities. Wood Mackenzie predicts that global PV growth will slow in 2024, with growth expected to slow from 2024 to 2028.
