DOE Awards $450,000 to Five Winners of Floating Offshore Wind Readiness Prize to Boost US Wind Energy.

The US Department of Energy (DOE) has announced five winners of the Floating Offshore Wind Readiness (FLOWIN) Prize, which aims to enable the manufacture and deployment of floating offshore wind structures. The winners will receive a cash prize of $450,000 and USD 100,000 in technical support at a DOE national laboratory. The prize will be used to advance manufacturing, supply chain, and deployment plans for the WindFloat foundations in the US market. The total prize pool is $5.85 million, with participants completing location-specific implementation pathways for domestic manufacture of their technologies.
