DOE Awards $190 Million in Prizes for Energy Efficiency Upgrades in Schools Nationwide Under Renew America’s Schools Program

The Energy Department (DOE) has announced winners of $190 million in prizes for energy efficiency and air quality upgrades in schools across the country. The prizes are part of a three-phase $190 billion investment in Renew America’s Schools, a program funded by the bipartisan infrastructure law enacted in 2021. The program is part of the $500 million program, which includes a $500m investment in K-12 public schools to reduce energy use, reduce costs, and improve air quality. The funds will be used to create new pathways for districts and partners so thousands of students can learn in safe, sustainable schools.
