D3Energy and Del-Co Water Launch Ohio’s First Floating Solar Project to Cut Costs and Carbon Emissions.

US floating solar developer D3Energy has partnered with Del-Co Water, an Ohio-based cooperative water utility, to develop the state’s first floating solar project. The utility-scale solar installation will include over 1,000 ground-mounted solar panels and 6,000 floating panels, creating a total installed capacity of 3.2MW. The project is set to begin next month and is expected to reduce Del-co Water’s annual energy costs by over $400,000. However, it is estimated to offset over 3,500 metric tons of carbon dioxide emissions annually.
