Congress Backs Sen. Hoeven’s Bill to Preserve Wild Horses at Theodore Roosevelt National Park Amid Management Plan Review.

Congress has passed a bill supporting a measure in which Sen. John Hoeven (R-N.D.) recommends that the National Park Service (N.C.D. park officials) should allow wild horses to remain at Theodore Roosevelt National Park in North Dakota. The park service is expected to decide on the herd’s future in April as part of its efforts to create a park management plan for “livestock.” Advocates believe this could lead to Congress withholding funds that would be used to remove the wild horse herd and potentially leading to a decision on its future.
