US renewable energy developer Clearway Energy Group has secured a power purchase agreement with Washington state utility Puget Sound Energy (PSE) for a 315-MW wind project under development in Montana. The agreement involves the power off-taker for Clearway’s Haymaker wind farm, the company’s first project in the western US state. PSE will procure the plant’s output and supply it to its customers for 25 years, meeting some of the most ambitious laws in the nation while meeting customer expectations for clean, safe, reliable and affordable energy. The Haymaker project is expected to produce enough power to cover the consumption of 116,000 homes annually.
